Ministries / Volunteer Opportunities
Ministries:
Sunday School:
Vision: Providing a biblically-grounded foundation in order to transform the lives of families through Bible study, fellowship, and ministry contribution.
Motto: “Presenting Christ to transform lives!”
Children Ministries: Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6 ESV)
L.Y.T.E.:
Vision: To be a mechanism in raising a new generation of Christ-centered leaders.
Adult Ministry, Strong Transformation Empowerment Ministry (S.T.E.M.)
Vision: Encourage people of any age with a postmodern mindset—single and married, in college and out of college, with kids or without kids—to come under the loving reign of Christ and find completeness of life in him.
Women Ministry
Ministry Verse: “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching” (Hebrews 10:24-25).
Men Ministry
Ministry Verse: “What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead” (James 2:14-17).
Prayer Ministry
Ministry Verse: “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him" (1 John 5:14-15).
Volunteer Opportunities:
“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” (1 Peter 4:10).
In addition to attending our regular worship services, many of us at Bridgeport Free Methodist are involved in serving God through different avenues.
Church Operations:
Child Care Coordinator: Ensure quality child care by training volunteers and keeping our facilities kid-friendly and welcoming.
Hospitality Coordinator: Work with a team of volunteers to welcome our guest speakers and to keep in touch with speakers we have invited in the past.
Welcome Team: Help greet newcomers by creating an inviting atmosphere at events.
Rotations:
Everyone can get involved in serving in some way at Shekinah Glory Free Methodist Tabernacle, as every ministry group works through various weekly needs we have.
